Pursuing Baseball: Our National Obsession with Our National Game
In 2008 McFarland contracted with me to publish a book of essays, each about five thousand words long, that I would write about the way fans devote themselves to baseball. The book is divided into two parts: "A Manly Game" and "A Womanly Game."
The manuscript for this book, which bears the working title Pursuing Baseball: Our National Obsession with Our National Game, is due at McFarland on July 5, 2009, Dorothy's 81st birthday. Publication will take place in 2010.
I have terminated the publication of my monthly email "Baseball History Newsletter," which I wrote for ten years, and am instead using my comments about baseball for this new book, Pursuing Baseball.
